Hey frankie133! (I am addressing this message to
you because you do seem to be the only one who ever
posts anything.) <br> You are absolutely right. It is
very important to get information about animal rights
out there so that others can become involved. With
that in mind...any news?!<br> Here's something new
about brutal raccoon murders:
<a href=http://www.fund.org/news/central.html
target=new>http://www.fund.org/news/central.html</a>
may i suest That you go to a website made bt peta
the website is www.meatstinks.com ( if you eat meat i
dont sugets it and if you do i'm not trying to get you
to become vegiarian) it just has sime interesting
stuff! thanks again Frankie
My name is Heidi, and I just recently became more
interested in animal rights and protection after reading the
book _The Dreaded Comparison_ by Marjorie Spiegel. I
joined PETA earlier this week. I was a vegetarian for a
few years and I have started doing that again. I also
belong to a club called PETA Save the Animals
(<a href=http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/petasavetheanimals
target=new>http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/petasavetheanimals</a>), however it
doesn't have very many members and is
really slow. I'd like to see it perk up a little. Is
anybody interested? At any rate I'll be popping in here
often. :)
Okay guys, I have another link for ya. This one
is kinda hard to read, so you are forewarned. A vet
in MI is under suspicion for severe animal cruelty.
This is the site to sign a petition to revoke his
license should the allegations indeed be true. Please
take the time to look it over and sign. (It is rather
unsettling, though, if you want to skip the actual
details...the petition gives a sketchy review.) Thanks.<br>

Hi everyone. I am not an official member of PETA,
but have been active in GSD rescue for a few years
now, in a small way. I guess my one pet peeve is
breeders/puppy mills. Not the responsible breeders mind you, but
of all the breeders of GSD I have encountered, I
haven't actually met a responsible breeder, I guess they
are few and far between (sigh). I just happen to end
up saving their cast aways, and I keep them all. I
am interested in any information that I can gather
on stopping these people....the ones who see these
dear four legged souls as goods to be bartered, and
not the living breathing creatures that God gave us
to care for and protect. To me there is much more to
them then just a dollar sign painted on a pedigree.
Whew sorry, will drag my soap box with me when I go
:o)<br>I have actually written several articles on animal
abuse, and put them out there on the web, but I'm in the
midst of changing web sites, and will it be back ASAP.
It's been kinda rough for me the past month, I lost
another of my girls to genetic problems in Feb. and
haven't quite come to terms with it, but that's another
tale, (tail?) best left for another day. God bless you
all.<br>Vicky
Can someone tell me , is it true what i heard
that peta is starting a got beer campain on collage
campus around the country???????? I heard that they were
doing it agaist the dairy industry. Is this true??? If
anyone knows anything about this please commit aboput
it. Thanks
Yes, that is true, however they are not condoning
the actual act of drinking. Furthermore, they
expressly state that irresponsible consumption of alcohol
is wrong. To see their article, go to
<a href=http://www.peta-online.com target=new>http://www.peta-online.com</a> and
you will see a link to the story.
I find that crime committed by a supposed helper of animals to be very
upsetting. I signed the petition, and if there are any activites scheduled I
will try to go, since I'm from Michigan.
I looked at the link your talking about.....What
i heard was true, so once again peta is against the
dairy. Peta is saying that beer is better for you than
milk........if this is true, Peta must be saying that instead of
milk for breakfast you have beer for
breakfast.....doesn`t sound right with Quaker oats does it??? It sounds
to me also that they are doing their part to help
getting more kids to start drinking beer.......at a
possible younger age..........(think about this
people)....doesn`t sound too good does it??? Gee, if they are going
that far.......why not replace a baby`s milk with
beer??? According to Peta beer is
healthier...........Think about it. Whoever started this Got Beer campain
did nothing but show their ignorance.........Peta
included
I agree with you that the slant they put on it is
rather offensive when looked at from that point of view.
However, I am 17, an age when a lot of kids start drinking
(and I know this to be true because some of my friends
drink), but I am not in the least inclined to change my
morals just because PETA says so. I happen to like milk.
It's too bad that teenagers are so easily influenced,
so that a campaign like this is potentially
dangerous.
Thank you for an honest well thought answer on
this.........i`m glad you see my point.....I`m 26 so it wasn`t
that long ago that i was a teenager. I was just
wondering if anyone else had the same veiws on
this.......besides whoever heard of a bowl of cereal with beer on
it??? (some college kids have probibly tried it
though!!!).....Thanks for your veiw.
I do not always agree with PETA's actions, but
their hearts are in the right place. This ad was not
meant to be taken seriously. PETA was trying to show
the cruelty and stupidity involved with milk
production. The ad was a sarcastic spin off the "Got Milk"
campains in an effort to bring attention to the real story
of milk production. <br> Admittedly, they seem to
pick bad topics to show their enthusiasm...I don't
know what they were thinking on that one. But, they
got press coverage. Maybe that was the whole point.
How were their hearts in the right place on this?
Also, how is milk production cruel??? I grew up on a
small dairy farm....let me tell you, the cows came into
the barn very willingly. (no we did not use drugs on
the cows such as Peta claims that all dairy farmers
use). I`d like to know why they feel it is cruel to
milk the cow. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME THE ANSWER TO
THIS??? it would be crueler not to milk the cow because
their udders will swell up and bust. I still say that
when Peta came up with this get beer campain, they did
nothing but show their ignorance.
welcome to the club vicky! I hope you enjoy this
club! would you mind telling me where some of the
articles you have written are posted i would enjoy reading
them! Frankie<br>P.S i appologise about you daughter
I just saw on the peta site that they are
discontinuing their Got Beer campaign, for obvious
reasons.<br><br>The part against which they are protesting is not
small farms (which usually treat their livestock
humanely), but the huge milking factories where the entire
life of the cow is being confined to a tiny cell for
the sole purpose of milk production.<br><br>If any of
you guys haven't read the article yet, I highly
recommend that you do. Here is a link right to
it.<br><a href=http://www.milksucks.com/beersurvey.html
target=new>http://www.milksucks.com/beersurvey.html</a>
Can someone tell me where these people get their
information at??? Especially the part about the veal calves
being ``chained inside dark crates`` Obviously Peta
will print anything to get people to believe them.
(fact or fiction). Anyone who has ever spent anytime
around a farm will know that these ``facts`` are simply
not true, and as always when the real facts come out,
Peta will be embarrased by their ingnorance.
People don`t get me wrong...I`m against treating
animals cruelly... I don`t however agree with Peta on 99%
of the stuff they are against. I to am against so
called ``factory farms``. The article about the vet in
michigan was touching. I would just like people to realise
that Peta has written material many times that was not
true, and that on alot of stuff they have no true facts
to back their side up. All i`m asking people is that
before you back them up on something is that you
research the facts yourself. Then you will see what i`m
talking about.
peta facts are true! well most of them anyway
peta is not talking about local farms they are talking
about the factories you know factory farms where the
aniamls are in building there entire life ( the milk from
thease factories is inhumane) But not the milk from a
farm where the farmer milks the cows himself and not a
machine! Frankie
what did you mean when you wrote "so called
factory farms" were you doughting there igsistanse or
something? Frankie<br><br>And just out of curosty do you eat
meat? or hunt? I'm not trying to say you shouldent i'm
just curious
