Hi, I am Mem, mom to 6 kids. I tried to start a tank about 4 years ago
but it never went anywhere. Now, I have volunteered to keep the
schools monkeys over the summer. I have a 2 gallon tank and have
followed the steps the best I could. My biggest question is I guess,
what to expect? I combined 3 diffrent tanks into the one big one and
use conditioner on a gallon of distilled water. All of my adults have
died but there are 3 or 4 babies in there. I use an air pump and
stone with a gang valve on it. Should I let the pump go 24/7 or just
for a few min daily? The teachers were just going to flush their tanks
and I feel like I am on my own here. I really would love to have
plenty by the time school starts. Any and all suggestions would be
appreciated!

Hi! I'm almost out of my "official" Sea Monkey food and am considering
striking out on my own to find new food sources. I found Zoecon liquid
on the Ken Marine site, thanks to your message.

Question: are you still feeding this to your Sea Monkeys? I was just
wondering if this is a suitable long-term feeding solution.

Thanks.

My friend gave me a tank an d some eggs, water purifier and some
food two months ago, she says it will help me to ease my sadness
from losing my baby. I thought nothing could take my mind of it as
i've been trying to have a baby for years. But now i could say they
not only ease my sadness but they also bring happiness to my life,
thank you to sea monkey creator, i owe you a lot of happiness.
Another thing is i'm currently 5 weeks pregnant, amazing because i
stopped all my treatments when i lost the last one. Maybe because
i'm happy with my sea monkeys and just relax with my life. Thank you
again Sea monkeys. hope you'll let me in your group.

Thank you,
Tik

Hey there all you Sea-Monkey Fans!

My name is Willow and while I am new to this board, I am not new to
Sea-Monkeys. I remember seeing them in the toy store when I was 7
(which is only 20 years ago)and being captivated by what I read on
the package. I immediately demanded that my parents buy them for
me. After they stopped laughing at me, they agreed to give me a
$5.00/month allowance and after 2 months (I was a little careless
with my hard earned cash) I was able to purchase my first batch of
Sea-Monkeys. I've since had many attempts at Sea-Monkeys, none of
which lasted for more than 3 months. I have just started my most
recent attempt and so far so good. I have been aerating my Monkeys
by swapping the water between 2 containers, which always makes me
nervous. Luckily, I have the air pump on order. Now let's hope I
don't spill the containers in the meantime. In this batch of Sea-
Monkeys, I can say that I've had more hatch this time around than
ever before, so I'm hoping that's a good Sea-Monkey omen. Well, I
think that's about it for now! Talk to y'all soon!

-Willow

Hi everyone.

Every time I feed my sea monkeys quite a lot of them die. I hardly
ever feed them now as they seem to live off the debris at the bottom
of the tank and all I need to do is oxygenate the tank.

Does anyone else have this problem where a lot of the sea monkeys die
whenever they are fed?

Andrea,
I have put in the packets early too, with no real harmful effects.
Some times the sea monkeys are so tiny that you can't see them. Be
patient. It took me a while to figure out which was which, but once
you see a baby sea monkey swimming around it is so neat! You'll
always recognise a baby after that. Keeping the tank warm is a key at
this time of year. room temperature is best, but do try to keep them
warm in th ewinter. A North facing window or a brightly lit room is
best to get babies to hatch. I read that they may hatch better in a
armer brighter room, temp bing 75* is good. Hope this helps.
Willa

Duckz,
I think it is more of the saline formula, not the water purifier as
in packet # 1. Plasma III is supposed to help more sea monkey eggs
hatch. At least that is what I have been told.

  Hi,
You can get the sea monkey booklet from the company by sending a self
addressed stamped envelope and 2.90 to:
Transcience Corporation
PO Box 809
Bryans Rd, Maryland
             20616
The average time it takes to get to you is about 2-3 weeks. Sometimes
I get stuff earlier, other times it takes longer. The booklet has a
coupon in it for a $1.00 off your next purchase, a list of all
available items from Transcience, and a llifetime garantee for your
sea monkeys. Pretty cool!
I just recently found out that they do not carry the jumob living
plasma any nore. The WWW.seamonkeys.com website reports the lack of
demand for the large packet was not enough to keep the item going.
One of the people who works there reports there may be packets of it
for sale at Zydeco: www.iloveduckies.com I hope this helps.

I've got the last surviving adult seamonkey in my tank...luckily the
survivor's been laying many eggs. The eggs have been floating around
for weeks, any idea on how to make them hatch?

I keep the tank in office, temperature's around 22'C I think and a
little bit green algae can be found at the bottom of the tank. Hope
it's not a water problem.

Hi there.

I use something that's called a "turkey baster" It's like a very
large pippete and I blow air into the tank through the top opening.
As I immerse it I already squeeze the bulb and still keep blowing air
in as I draw it out to prevent sucking the sea monkeys back up. Once
out of the take I'll draw the air in again and repeat a few times.
This seems to do the trick.
