Were owners present and were they uncooperative in heading off
the problem?
Aggressiveness is often the failure of the owner to act in either
calling a dog off or removing the dog from the area.
None of us wants aggressiveness in the park but it would be
helpful to have a better characterization of the events. I have been
down there when several dogs engaged in rough play but all owners
seem to understand the play and accepted it or took their dog to farther
reaches of the park and made clear they did not want to continue the
interactions. When dogs have become aggressive I have been pleased to
see owner leash their pet and leave the park.
I have not been down for a couple of weeks and hate to hear that
our rules are not bing followed. The park must be safe for pet and
owner. SUZ

I just want to let the whole community aware that there seems to be an
increase in the number of aggressive dogs that are being brought to the
Shirlington Dog Park. In the past month, my Cocker Spaniel has been
mauled by two dogs. This is not just rough play, but aggressive
dominance behavior. In regards to his safety, I am questioning if I
should bring him back to the park.
I don't want the community should do, but I believe we should head this
off before more dogs, and potentially people get hurt.
