TrulyDogFriendly.com, and this discussion list, were launched in May 2006 by a coalition of dog trainers and behavior consultants concerned with the proliferation of the use of shock collars and other harmful tools and methods within their profession.

We welcome trainers, behavior consultants, veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and those who are studying for such work, and who share our view on pain-free training and handling of dogs, to join this discussion list.

In your request to join, you must tell us three things:

- what kind of work you do with dogs
- your first and last name
- why you want to join (briefly)

You may also include a link to your business website, if you have one and would like to do so.

We care deeply about pet owners -- that is why we do the work we do! But this list happens to be only for those who work with dogs. We recommend that pet owners check out the Peaceablepaws Yahoo group and Clickersolutions.
