A forum to help dog rescue organizations and individuals network with and support each other and animal shelters in finding homes for dogs in or near New England, NY, NJ and the rest of the Northeast. Please note this is a REGIONAL rescue group, we cover ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA and that's it.
This is primarily a dog rescue group but posts of non-canines in need are also welcome. Dog rescuers joining this group who place dogs are expected to have spay/neuter policies in force. People representing municipal shelters who join to get additional rescue exposure for their dogs are exempt from this requirement, though we sure hope s/n is standard in all shelters someday.
We welcome new people to the endeavor of dog rescue and are happy to try and get newbies off to a good start.....BUT if you apply for membership simply to get a "free dog," your application will be ignored. Go to your local shelter or petfinder.org for that.
