Have any of you made provision for your Westies in your will?
My husband and I will be making our will in the next couple of weeks. We
have no children, no nieces or nephews.
Any cousins are far removed.
I've not trusted brother-in-law since he put our cat and her kittens out
on the back porch to starve because he could not be bothered any more to
feed them while we were out of state taking care of my mother who had
had a stroke. I'm still not over that.
I've been trying to think of a way to be sure our four Westies and any
other pets end up in a good, loving home that is appropriate for Westies.
Have you ever heard of a Westie Rescue organization taking in Westies
following a death, with some money....with provision to place those
Westies with experienced Westie owners? Any Westies surviving at the
time of our death would probably not be fresh rescues or fresh
adoptees...i.e., hopefully not too much of a problem to merge into an
existing Westie family.
I would really appreciate your input on this. These four little Westies
mean so very much to me! Our English Shepherds are 16, 15, 14, will
probably not be with us too much longer...but whatever works for the
Westies in our will can be tailored to work with the English Shepherds
and Rosalie our rescue cat.
Fondly,
Penny
