This list is restricted to professional wildlife rehabilitators and others in related professions, to share information, protocols, and case discussions on the care and release of orphaned, injured, or sick wildlife. Membership is restricted to persons who are active rehabilitators, legally and lawfully licensed to rehabilitate in their prov/state. Rehabilitators working as subpermittees, assistants, etc., are welcome to apply and will be considered. Not all prov/states issue licences for rehabilitators, therefore, membership is also restricted to those who are current members of their provincial/state rehab group and at least one other international group (IWRC or NWRA). Other wildlife professionals, i.e. Vets, Biologists, Techs, MNR, DNR, F&G, and NWCO personnel, etc., are welcome and will be allowed to participate, providing they work with wildlife or in a related field and/or are accredited/licensed in their profession.
The list is monitored for content. Anyone applying for membership to WLPro is sent an application via email. Perspective members must return the application within 14 days and will be screened and approved for membership by the listowner and moderators.
This list is not suitable for the discussion of animal rights; the keeping, trade, or sale of wildlife as pets; or unreleasable wildlife placement. If those beliefs are your agenda, do not sign up. This list is for discussing current, factual, documented, and referenced, information about our professions and the animals in our care.
ONLY posts that pertain to the professional rehabilitation of wildlife, and clinical care of wildlife, are allowed. Those who stray from the list purpose will have their subscription terminated by the list owner - no excuses, no exceptions. Personal attacks, flames, or 'trolls' are not tolerated. The list owner and moderators reserve the right to refuse membership to anyone at any time, for any reason.
