PERMISSION TO CROSS-POST WIDELY
The American Pit Bull Rescue Association is asking for a modification of Judge
Hudson's
court order of October 16 requiring rescue groups to own a minimum $1 million
dollar
liability insurance policy before they can be considered eligible to
foster/adopt any Vick
dog. The APBRA brief will argue that this stipulation is prejudicial to smaller
rescues and
instead will ask the Court to have the newly appointed Guardian/Special Master
secure a
blanket $1 million dollar policy covering all 48 dogs and transferable to any
future owners
for the life of the dog with policy costs paid for by Vick.
Final determination about the dogs will be decided at Vick's sentencing on
December 10.
Rescue Groups and/or American Pit Bull Rescuers interested in additional
information as to
how they can voice their opinion to the court should:
SEND IMMEDIATELY: Group Name, Name of Chief Administrator, Address, Phone
Number,
e-mail, web contact, and a 100 word maximum description of the rescue group's
philosophy and activity. E-mail to
APBRA@... with the words "AMICUS BRIEF"
as the
subject line.
