Ten-tonne whale found dead on central coast

THANH HOA, 30 June, 2004 (VNA) - A whale weighing more than 10 tonnes
has been found dead on the coast of Da Loc commune, Hau Loc district,
central Thanh Hoa province.

The whale, 12-13 m long, is rotting.

Deputy Chairman of Da Loc People's Committee Bui The Sinh said on
Tuesday that the whale has been wrapped up in a net to protect its
bones and lime has been used to prevent environmental pollution.
